You've curated the perfect playlist for your café, gym, wedding, or party. Now you want to share it with people in a physical space — without spelling out a URL or hoping they search for the right one. A QR code gets them to your playlist in one scan.
Here's how to set it up and where to use it.
Get Your Spotify Link
Open Spotify (app or web). Navigate to the playlist, album, artist page, or podcast you want to share. Click the three-dot menu (⋯) and select Share → Copy link. You'll get a link like:
https://open.spotify.com/playlist/37i9dQZF1DXcBWIGoYBM5M
This link works universally — it opens the Spotify app if installed, or the Spotify web player if not.
Note: Spotify has its own QR-like system called "Spotify Codes" — those green-and-black wave patterns. But Spotify Codes only work inside the Spotify app's search scanner, not with a regular phone camera. A standard QR code is more accessible because anyone can scan it with their default camera.
Create the QR Code
- Go to qree.app
- Paste the Spotify link in the URL field
- Customize — Spotify green is
#1DB954if you want to match the brand - Download as PNG or SVG
When someone scans this QR, their phone opens Spotify directly to that playlist.
Use Cases
Cafes, Bars, and Restaurants
You already play music in your space. A QR code on the table or near the counter lets customers follow your playlist. They can listen to the same vibe at home — and it creates a subtle brand connection.
"Like our music? Scan to follow the playlist" works well on a small table tent or a sticker near the register.
Some venues create seasonal playlists and rotate them. A dynamic QR code lets you update the link each month without changing the physical display.
Gyms and Fitness Studios
Place QR codes in the workout area linking to curated workout playlists. Different codes for different zones: high-energy for the weight floor, steady tempo for the treadmills, cool-down vibes for the stretching area.
Instructors can share their class playlist via QR on a screen or handout — members can use the same music when working out on their own.
Events and Parties
Print the QR code on party invitations, table cards, or display it on a screen. Guests can queue songs from the playlist or follow it to relive the party later.
For weddings, a QR code on the table linking to the couple's "Our Songs" playlist is a popular personal touch.
Music Promotion
If you're a musician or band, put a QR code on gig posters, merch, album art, or flyers. Fans scan and go straight to your Spotify page. This is more effective than "Find us on Spotify" because it removes the search step.
On business cards for DJs and producers, a QR code linking to your latest mix or playlist is a modern way to share your work.
Retail Stores
Some stores curate playlists that match their brand aesthetic. A QR code at the entrance or checkout: "Listen to our in-store playlist" lets customers take the vibe home — and keeps your brand in their ears.
Podcasts
Podcasters can use QR codes on show flyers, conference booths, or printed promos linking directly to their show on Spotify. Scanning is faster than searching for a podcast name that might have duplicates.
Tips
Test the link. Scan the QR and make sure it opens the correct playlist. Spotify links sometimes change if you reorganize playlists.
Public playlists only. Make sure your playlist is set to public, otherwise the link will show an error for people who aren't you.
Add artwork context. If possible, display the playlist cover art near the QR code. It gives visual context and makes the QR more inviting to scan.
Dynamic for rotation. If you change playlists regularly (monthly café playlist, weekly workout mix), use a dynamic QR code and update the link each time. The physical display stays the same.
